In Buddhism, everything that exists in the universe has three characteristics:
- All conditioned things are impermanent and subject to change (anicca.)
- All conditioned things are inherently unsatisfactory (dukkha.)
- All things (conditioned and unconditioned) have no self. There is no changing or permanent self (anatta.)
